MEET ERNESTO

... the hard working, talented pattern maker and producer of CROSBY. I was introduced to Ernesto at the beginning of my manufacturing journey in early 2019. It was clear early on he was a truly kind and talented man. I share this blog post to highlight the man behind the brand CROSBY and his years of hard work on a craft that has taken Ernesto decades to perfect.

On one of our many calls over the past year Ernesto told me, "my passion is making garments." He made his first garment when he was 12 years old and living in Guatemala. His father, Estanislao, was a tailor and his mother, Dominga, a seamstress taught their son in his early days. Later, a friend taught Erensto about pattern making and that is the craft he pursued while working in Guatemala. He moved to LA in 1992 and soon enrolled in classes to expand his knowledge on pattern making.

After years of working for other local companies, creating patterns and garments, Ernesto branched out in 2007, opening his own business in downtown Los Angeles. I am personally so proud to work with Ernesto and his team. They produce amazing garments and support many USA brands with their talents and passions. I'm grateful for his guiding hand and kindness as the learning curve is real and I've required plenty of help along the way. :)
